Am reminded of 1988

when I heard that Obama was in Des Moines in the middle of the night.

Back in 1988 some of us gathered at the airport at 3:00 am, to cheer Michael Dukakis when he made a stop on his way back home to Boston.

By the time we returned home it was not worth it to go back to sleep. We had breakfast, showered and went to the poll as it opened. Managed to survive the day with not much sleep. Full of adrenaline.

Expecting Obama to do better than Dukakis. But the experience was nice.
