Pretty dire situation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, home to 150,000 Americans. After the derecho unleashed 90-100+ mph winds there on Monday, still two-thirds of city without power. Most homes/businesses damaged. Trees/wires down everywhere.

Former Iowa State wind speed record (non-tornadic) was 123 mph at Washington in years past. At 140 mph the derecho winds are rated at Cat 4 hurricane force. Republicans have been touting Iowa's buoyant economy during the C-19 downturn. They are now getting panned for derecho response.
