BROCKTON – Founders of the proposed New Heights Charter School of Brockton say a revamped proposal, sharper focus and a confirmed partnership with Massasoit Community College should get them into the winner’s circle this time.

School officials submitted a prospectus to the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education last week for the 2016-17 school year

It was six months after state officials cut the proposal from the last licensing round – citing some vague details – and after months of fierce opposition by the Brockton Public Schools.

“At this point we are very optimistic,” said Executive Director Omari Walker, of Norton: “The state was clear about what they are looking for from us and I’m hoping we can deliver.”
