Are any MA residents getting the toll transponder?

I have visited the Massdot web site to get particulars regarding the new requirement that we must have a transponder to use the Ma Pike, TW tunnel and the Tobin bridge or we are billed and charged more $$ for use. Since I use the toll roads and tunnel less than 6 times a year, I don't feel this is necessary for me. I understand there is a surcharge if you use any toll roads if you don't have this transponder. Nowhere can I find what the surcharge is. Anyone know?

Before signing up for this, I would like to know what I would pay if I don't sign up and install this.

Another intrusion and penalty, in my opinion.

I got transponders when they first were installed and few people had them. They were paid for after 3 or 4 trips. And now most electronic toll plazas here are full-speed bypasses versus getting in the stop-and-go line at a toll booth to wait and pay double. Illinois had its own transponder system, but now has reciprocity with many other states. I have no idea how Massachusetts is implementing this, but they are sure worth it here. Good luck.

but we have it and would hate to be without it. Even if you just use it a few times a year, being able to bypass those long toll lines and zip right through the fast lane is well worth the initial bother of acquiring one. I'm in Mass.
