It's a free service and I'm not making any income from it. People can pick and choose to read any story that interests them. If you aren't interested then please proceed with other threads or put me on ignore, but occasionally I do bring forth an important story that does merit attention like this thread:

http://democratsforever.freeforums.net/thread/7350/judge-presidential-preference-vote-challenged

Most of the stories do not get the attention on Google headlines and I'm the person aggregating the stories for further attention. There is also no requirement for anyone to offer additional commentary--I'll let the audience that reads the articles to form their opinions. There also is no requirement that threads on DU have political angles--there are all types of articles on DU ranging from the zany, to human interest, to business news.

I had no idea so many news sources were out there. Between your post and Omaha Steve ya got the world covered.

I wish that it was true that I had the world covered. With other members such as Omaha Steve and Judy Lynn it does make DU a strong news source and the reports from local media can beat the national coverage by 12-24 hours.

Even if there is some clickbait in the links, I would hope that people would prefer more information rather than less.

5. Hey ET,

I'm hanging in there. It flooded in Wharton last week with the Colorado River reaching the fourth highest level ever. The water was up to five feet deep in some homes, but I'm on relatively high ground so I wasn't affected. My brother told me that in the last major flood in 2004 that a woman he worked with came home to find a 5 foot long alligator waiting on the sofa.

I'm staying busy feeding the felines and I need to go searching for "Trump Cat's" (she is an orange and white cat) kittens since she gave birth about 10 days ago. There is one place in the apartment complex where she may be using as the hiding spot.

Home life has been a bit rough. My brother was laid off from the hospital last month so I'm busy cleaning up his mess and helping him out with the unemployment filings since I'm aware of the regulations more than he is. The hospital in this town is on the verge of shutting down so it has caused some problems obtaining medical care.

I suspect that I'll be moving from here within the next six months--the only question is whether I'll be accompanying my brother or will I get to go where I want to live if SSDI is approved. Meanwhile, I'm dealing with various aches and pains--the latest being my right hand. I'm having difficulty writing and I'm also dropping objects frequently due to numbness.

Sometimes the "weird news" is a nice change of pace from the hype of the primaries.
