State Treasurer: Michael Brown out as Flint emergency manager once Public Act 4 referendum is certified; Replacement not yet named

FLINT, MI -- Michael Brown will be out as Flint's emergency manager once the Public Act 4 referendum is certified for the November ballot, State Treasurer Andy Dillon confirmed today.
Dillon said he has a recommendation in mind on a replacement emergency financial manager, but declined to name the individual at a news conference today.
The news comes after the Michigan Supreme Court ruled today that a referendum of Public Act 4 should go before voters in November for possible repeal.
Dillon said that once the referendum is certified for the ballot, which hasn't happened yet, then Public Act 4 would be suspended and the previous version of the law would go into effect.
