Has anyone else been to the Auto Show this year?

Much better than last year. If you get a chance to go you should.


My personal favorite is the Toyota Fuel Cell concept. I thought Fuel Cell vehicles were pretty much dead and buried but this thing changed my mind.


It is an extended range hybrid, kinda like the Volt, but instead of using gasoline to generate electricity it uses hydrogen (or natural gas). If this thing ever makes it into production it is going to change the game.




Well, I kinda liked the 650hp Mustang too but that is a different story.





Edit to add: There is also a company which converts vehicles into Volt style extended range hybrids. I got a ballpark estimate of 30K per vehicle. It is targeted at work vehicles such as pickups and vans. They even have an option where you can plug tools into your truck and use it as a generator. It was very very cool. I assume they are looking to be bought out by a bigger company but even if they aren't it could be an option if the price comes down a bit and if gas prices continue to creep up. If you get to the show look for this display. The company was named V/A.
