Thursday, March 20, 2014
6:30pm until 9:30pm
Canadian pipeline company Enbridge plans to expand the capacity of the Alberta Clipper line, which carries tar sands crude from Alberta to Superior across much of northern MN.
The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission will be hosting hearings on the proposed Alberta Clipper expansion March 18-20 in five cities along the route. The hearings are to determine whether the expansion is in the best interest of the state and region. Anyone can attend, and all are welcome to testify. Can you be there?
Duluth, MN: Thursday, 3/20 at 6:30pm
Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites - Downtown
200 West 1st St, Duluth, MN
(there are also hearings scheduled in Hallock, Thief River Falls, Cass Lake, Floodwood, and St. Paul)
Tar sands are one of our dirtiest sources of fuel, and an expanded Alberta Clipper would have nearly as much capacity as the controversial Keystone XL tar sands pipeline proposal. To return to a stable climate, we need to keep this oil in the ground, not speed its extraction by building more pipeline capacity. Come join us!
