Missouri announces first case of Omicron
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) announced the first case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
DHSS said in a release that case was in a St. Louis resident who had recently traveled domestically.
The results of the test still need to be confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The World Health Organization classified the variant, B.1.1.529, as a Variant of Concern a week ago.
