U.S. Attorney: Las Vegas prisoner threatened to kill Reno judge, family

A Nevada prisoner was accused of sending threatening letters to a Reno federal judge after she dismissed a lawsuit he had filed against several correctional officers in Las Vegas.

David Paule, 47, of Indiana Springs, Calif., was indicted Tuesday on three counts of influencing, impeding or retaliating against a federal official by threatening them, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California.

Paule allegedly sent three letters to a judge from High Desert State Prison, threatening to kill her and her family, according to an indictment filed in Nevada federal court.

"When I get out of prison, which is very soon, I’m going to personally hunt you down like the dog that you are and kill you with my bare hands this I vow,” Paule wrote in the letter, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a news release Tuesday.
