Judge again tosses Seidle children's $10M lawsuit claims, allows a third attempt

A federal district court judge again threw out legal claims filed on behalf of the nine children of a former Neptune Township police sergeant who fatally shot their mother.

The lawsuit still wasn't specific enough about wrongdoing the children and their attorney claimed against multiple towns, police departments and law enforcement figures, Judge Michael A. Shipp ruled Tuesday in an order posted at the bottom of this story. He gave the plaintiffs 30 days to try for a third time, warning that he was offering "one final opportunity to cure the deficiencies in their federal claims."

"We’re pleased with the court’s decision in round two," the attorney representing Asbury Park, Roshan Shah, said in a statement.

Tamara Wilson-Seidle, 51, was fatally shot in June 2015 by her ex-husband, Philip Seidle, in front of their 7-year-old daughter after a car chase that ended on a residential street. Philip Seidle, 54, is serving a 30-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to crimes including aggravated manslaughter.
