Rio Rancho police officer shot
A Rio Rancho police officer was shot Monday night on Southern Boulevard near the public library, according to a department spokesman.
Capt. Paul Rogers said the shooting took place shortly after 8 p.m. near the intersection of Southern and Pinetree Road.
The condition of the officer was not known at this time, Rogers said.
