Working Families Party urges members to support AG's Airbnb crackdown

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has a new ally in his fight to crack down on Airbnb: the Working Families Party.

In a letter that will be blasted out to the party’s 100,000 New York City members Monday afternoon, state director Bill Lipton accuses the popular apartment-sharing website of contributing to the city’s growing affordable housing crisis.

“If you think your rent is steep...you'll be surprised to find out that there's a hidden fee that's pushing your bill up even higher,” Lipton writes. “You can call it the Airbnb fee.”
