Rains delay opening of New York State Canal System

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) >> Heavy rainfall across New York has delayed this week’s scheduled opening of the State Canal System for the 2014 navigation season.
State Canal Corp. officials are advising mariners that high water along many stretches of the canals will delay Saturday’s scheduled opening at least for a couple of days.
