Two no votes for de Blasio’s health care deal

Leaders of the city's Municipal Labor Committee voted overwhelmingly Friday to approve proposed savings in the city's health care costs as part of contract negotiations, but two key unions registered their dissent.
Steve Cassidy of the firefighters' union and Michael Palladino of the Detectives Endowment Association both voted against the proposal, according to the Daily News, which first reported the 20-2 vote.
Harry Nespoli, the president of the Uniformed Sanitationmens Association and chairman of M.L.A., confirmed the vote, but declined to confirm the dissenters.
"I can't tell you," Nespoli told Capital. "Whenever you get a bunch of union leaders in one room, someone is going to have a different opinion. I told them, if you don't like this health care package you speak to your members, so they voted and I have all the respect for the leaders in that room."
