GOOD SAMARITAN RESCUES DISABLED WOMAN FROM BROOKLYN FIRE; 4 HURT

PROSPECT PARK SOUTH (WABC) -- A 69-year-old disabled woman was carried to safety by a neighbor as fire tore through her apartment building in Brooklyn Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported around 6:30 a.m. in a six-story apartment building on Ocean Avenue just north of the intersection with Church Street in the Prospect Park South section.

The flames broke out on the fourth floor and quickly spread up to the fifth, burning through two apartments and sending flames shooting out one of the windows as plumes of smoke spread through the building.
