Two Children Hospitalized After Early-Morning Fire In Brooklyn Apartment Building

Two children are in the hospital after an early-morning fire at a Brooklyn apartment building.

Flames broke out before 3 a.m. Saturday in a second-floor apartment of the Van Dyke Houses on Blake Avenue in Brownsville.

Firefighters said they quickly entered the apartment, with some using a ladder to enter through a window, and worked to locate the two children in the apartment once inside.

The children were taken to Brookdale Hospital.
