Zephyr Teachout: Cuomo “building power through fear”

Zephyr Teachout said she’ll decide in the next week on whether to challenge Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a Democratic primary after she lost the Working Families Party nod to him on Saturday.

Zephyr TeachoutTeachout, a Fordham University law professor, lost to Cuomo 59 percent to 41 percent at the WFP convention.

“I talked to some folks there who said, ‘My heart is with you, but I can’t vote for you because I’m afraid of what would happen to this institution,’ whether it be a labor union or a community organization. ‘I’m afraid that the governmental power of Cuomo would end up sucking the resources from the people I care and love,’” Teachout said this morning on The Nicole Sandler Show.
