Question on gay friendly areas in NY State.

Are the areas of Syracuse and Rochester gay friendly. We are planning to downsize considerably and have been looking at New York State. We are looking for inexpensive cities/areas. Syracuse and Rochester appear to have a lot of nice homes in our price range. We are trying to stay under $200k and with low taxes. The city does not need to be large, but liberal and gay friendly. Any help is certainly appreciated. Thanks!

Spent time there since the 80's. Friendly. I know many gay people there, men and women, more women. Many with kids. Land o' Two Moms. Lots of feminist and general American history in the city and the region, Susan B Anthony's house on the same square as Frederick Douglass's house, a statue of the two of them sitting together. That knocks me out. Finger Lakes, lilacs, a good deal of film and a great deal of music, good houses, old ones and new. Good food. Wegman's grocery the finest in the land. A serious plus. Superstore Wegman's is my grocery dream....
Many things I like in Rah Cha Cha. The winter is why I do not reside there right now, actually. It's too much for me. Thin, West Coast humors run through me....
