Pay back: McDonald’s franchisee fined $10K for firing worker

Joseph Spector

A McDonald’s franchisee in western New York must pay $10,000 to a former employee who was fired after reporting a gas leak at the restaurant to authorities, the Democrat and Chronicle reported today.

Warrenone Inc., a McDonald’s franchisee operating four restaurants in Wayne and Monroe Counties, has to pay the worker 18 months of part-time, minimum-wage pay, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said in a statement.
