Cuomo green lights red-light cameras for Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mt. Vernon

Jon Campbell

Red-light camera programs in Rochester and Yonkers were extended for five years by Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday, while new programs in New Rochelle and Mt. Vernon were also green lighted.

The red-light camera bills were among 92 pieces of legislation signed Tuesday by Cuomo after they were passed by the state Legislature earlier this year.

In all, eight cities and counties across the state received permission to extend or implement a red-light camera program, including New York City, Albany and Suffolk and Nassau counties on Long Island.
