Gillibrand, Women's Rights Groups Back Stringer For Comptroller

Some powerful women are now endorsing Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer and his bid for comptroller.

In an email, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand writes that she thinks Stringer would make a stronger comptroller for the city than his more-famous opponent, former Governor Eliot Spitzer.

She said Stringer is "clearly the best choice" and has the right "temperament and judgment" for the job.

Stringer also picked up the backing of three women's rights groups today in Union Square.
