Protesters slam teacher tenure foe Campbell Brown outside 'The Colbert Report' studios

Campbell Brown talks tenure on ‘Colbert’

Eliza Shapiro

Campbell Brown, the local face of the fight against teacher tenure, visited "The Colbert Report" on Thursday night and insisted that the lawsuit she is backing to challenge tenure laws is "not about blaming teachers."

"I am fighting the teachers' union because they are fighting to prevent changing laws that are anachronistic, and that everybody thinks need to change," she told Colbert.

Brown said she brought several of the plaintiffs who filed the Wright v. New York case this week with her to the show.

Colbert pointed out that Brown's appearance stirred an unusual amount of controversy.

Among (many) other things... doesn't she say at the beginning that one of her "groups" is the "Education Transparency Project"?

You know: "transparency"? As in you don't keep secrets, i.e. hide things from the citizenry, like ... for instance ... who's bank rolling your..... mmmmm ....... "activism"?

She puts the "lude" in ludicrous.

So naturally Colbert's going to have " the protestors" they kept talking about in front of the studio to present the OTHER SIDE OF THE ISSUE. Right?

Or is this a case... like Chris Cuomo's station ( CNN?) which won't cover brother Andy's Moreland Commission scandal... where cable news stars get a free pass and actually get to control the information made available to the audience?

I saw the show last night and she hemmed and hawed around Colbert's question about who is funding this before she finally said she won't divulge who the donors are to save them from harassment.

And she is more than welcome to get her license to teach in New York to make things better.

Teaching... my dear chelsea... is for the little people.

As are public schools in general.

Thanks for the link.
