Rego Park Man Jumps to His Death As City Marshal Serves Eviction Notice

REGO PARK — A Queens man being served an eviction notice by a city marshal jumped to his death Monday from the window of his apartment complex, police and building management said.

The 61-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been released, took the fatal plunge about 12:40 p.m. from the window of his Wetherole St. home, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

A social worker and a marshal knocked on the man's door between 12:30 and 12:40 p.m., but there was no answer, the building superintendent said.
