U.S. Two-Star General Killed in Afghanistan from Capital Region

Major General Harold Greene was as decorated as army generals come. But before he earned all his medals along with several masters degrees and a PhD, neighbors tell us he grew up in the yellow home on Maywood ave, went to Guilderland high school, and then began his army career as a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

"It's a tight nit neighborhood, we're very close," said Bliven, who's lived in Guilderland for 14 years.

Even though she never met Major General Greene, she's heard all about him from his 85-year-old dad.

"You're not supposed to bury your kids," Bliven said, choking back tears.

His dad is also Harold Greene. After recently losing his wife, he still lives in the same yellow home where his son grew up
