Teachout rallies LICH supporters against Cuomo

Zephyr Teachout appeared at the Long Island College Hospital site on Saturday morning to condemn Governor Andrew Cuomo’s lack of support to keep the facility a full-service hospital.

“I have a vision for this state. I have a vision where everyone has meaningful access to health care and health facilities,” she told reporters, with a crowd of about 30 energetic supporters behind her. “An emergency care taxi stand is not meaningful access to a hospital.”

Teachout, who is challenging Cuomo in next month's Democratic primary, praised the activists for “blowing their whistles,” and said she would fully support an investigation into the sale of LICH if elected.
