Bratton: ‘No daylight’ with mayor on Sharpton, officers

Police commissioner Bill Bratton said on Wednesday he would “shake hands with the devil” if it would keep New York City safe from crime.

Bratton's comments came in response to a question about the Rev. Al Sharpton, at a Crain's New York Business breakfast in Manhattan.

One of moderators of the event, Melissa Russo of NBC, asked if the commissioner felt slighted by Sharpton’s criticism of Bratton and the NYPD during a roundtable meeting in City Hall following the death of Eric Garner.

“We live in very interesting times,” Bratton replied, drawing a hearty round of laughter from the audience.
