NYC Travel ban to be lifted -

Alert issued 1/23/16 at 9:47 PM. Mayor De Blasio has announced that the travel ban for all NYC roads will be lifted on 1/24 at 7:00 AM. Exercise caution when driving and allow for additional travel time.

I was in the Bronx in 77 (?); 6" of snow and temps in the teens shut down the city for a week with classes cancelled. No snow removal plan back then. I do remember the East River looking like a glacier from all the snow that was being dumped in.
