Chadbourne & Parke law firm fired female lawyer after she brought up gender pay complaint, $100M suit alleges

White-shoe law firm Chadbourne & Parke "stands out for its culture of discrimination against female attorneys" — paying female partners lower salaries and bonuses than their male counterparts, a $100 million lawsuit alleges.

Kerrie Campbell joined the firm in January 2014 and brought Chadbourne & Parke more than 20 clients, making the firm "over $5 million in total collections."

While Campbell had been among the most productive partners, "her pay consistently places her at the bottom ranks of male Partners who have originated far less, and in some instances, zero revenue as a billing Partner," the suit, filed Wednesday in Manhattan federal court, charges.

After complaining about "gender-based pay and power inequities," she was told in February 2016 that the then "all-male, five-member Management Committee" wanted her to leave the firm as soon as possible.
