Video of extremely bright light/explosion(?) outside my apartment window just now

I have no idea what this is - but it lit the sky up almost like daytime for a couple minutes at 9:00pm and at the end went dark immediately - big contrast.

He didn't provide a site.

I'm still looking around for something.

power blinked momentarily when the initial explosion of the transformer happened, but no power loss here in Astoria. LGA lost power for a few minutes.
If this was summer time, when power usage is higher, there probably would have been blackouts/brownouts from the loss of the substation.

I live just a couple of blocks from the substation, heard the explosion, saw the fire from my block. The buzzing sound from the electric fire was loud. From the glow I thought that some towers were on fire or sparkling with electricity. But it was just a trick of the light.

Lots of NYPD, NYFD were on site very quickly. Con ed had trucks going in and out all night, bringing in parts, supplies to repair the transformer/substation.

For a measurable length of time, too.

I thought it was apocaplyptic. But no, just electric.
