Governor Andrew Cuomo finally had something to say about this year's mayor's race, as the top Democrat in the state gave some crucial support Sunday to Bill de Blasio. NY1's Courtney Gross filed the following report.
Up until now, Governor Andrew Cuomo has refused to weigh in on the mayor's race. The current mayor's comments to New York Magazine, though, seem to have inspired the governor, who is now backing Bill de Blasio.
"They are a beautiful family," he said. "Individually, each of the members of the family are truly special people, and I think he should be very proud of his family."
Cuomo was reacting to an interview Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave last month that was published on Saturday. In the interview, Bloomberg slams de Blasio, calling his campaign racist, criticizing him for featuring his family so prominently on the campaign trail.

He is no different than Chris Christie or jebby Boosh or any other Republican that the press pronounces "moderate."
Scratch them and the Republican ooooozes out.

He's doing fine, FINE as the anti-establishment candidate. The LAST thing he needs is to be perceived as yet another state party hack.
Like Cuomo.
