NY woman convicted of killing husband

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (AP) - A jury has convicted a western New York woman of killing her husband, hiding his body in their basement and later burning his remains.

Local media report that the jury in Ontario County found 32-year-old Rose Chase guilty of second-degree murder on Friday.

She was charged with killing her 31-year-old husband Adam in June 2012. Authorities say she told investigators that her husband accidentally fell down the stairs during an argument in their home in the Finger Lakes hamlet of Stanley, 35 miles southeast of Rochester.

Prosecutors say she hid his body in the basement, then moved it to her mother's property in neighboring Yates County, where she burned the remains.
