A pro-casino robocall that doesn't mention casinos or gambling

"This is to let you know that we endorse voting 'yes' on Proposition 1," says a chirpy female voice on a robocall received last night on the office voicemail of a woman who works in downtown Brooklyn.

Proposition 1 would legalize up to seven full scale, Las Vegas-style casinos in New York State.

It's also one of the core elements of Governor Andrew Cuomo's economic development plan, and has the support of business interests, casino operators and labor unions.

Cuomo's argument for the amendment is that it will generate money for education, create jobs and reduce property taxes.
