Maloney ready for a rematch

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Former Republican Congresswoman Nan Hayworth has all but said she will run against Sean Patrick Maloney, the Democrat who defeated her in last year’s election. She had made several public appearances across the district and has acknowledged that she is keeping her options open.

Maloney told Orange County Democrats at their annual dinner Sunday night he is up for the challenge.

“You may have heard we are going to have a little rematch in this congressional race”, Maloney mused. “Somebody said to me, ‘Nan Hayworth is not used to losing,’ and I said she better get used to losing,” he told a cheering audience.

Maloney said it will be the Democrats who will turn Washington around for the better.
