MTA Reaches Milestone On Second Avenue Subway Line

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority reached a milestone in the construction of the Second Avenue Subway line.

Controlled blasts are now a thing of the past for the Second Avenue project.

The final blast took place Monday at the future 86th Street stop, four years after blasting began at 96th street.

The nearly $4.5 billion project will extend the Q line along Second Avenue and include new stations at 72nd, 86th and 96th Streets.
