Metro-North derailment leaves 4 dead, dozens injured

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A Metro-North commuter train rounding a riverside curve derailed Sunday morning, killing four people, injuring more than 60 and sending a chain of toppled cars trailing off the track just inches from the water. The 4 victims were identified late Sunday evening.

The victims have been identified as:

Donna L. Smith, 54, of Newburgh, N.Y.

James G. Lovell, 58, of Cold Spring, N.Y.

James M. Ferrari, 59, of Montrose, N.Y.

Ahn Kisook, 35, of Queens, N.Y

The derailment happened at Palisades Avenue and Independence Avenue. The train, with at least 100 passengers aboard, was the 5:54 a.m. out of Poughkeepsie due to arrive at Grand Central Station at 7:43 a.m.
