Eyewitness News
NEW YORK (WABC) -- The NTSB says the Metro-North train that derailed in the Bronx was traveling 82 mph as it approached a curve with a 30 mph speed limit.
National Transportation Safety Board investigators on Monday mined the train's data recorders, shedding light on such things as the train's speed and the use of its brakes.
The NTSB's Earl Weener says investigators have not yet determined is why the Metro-North train was going so fast. Weener said so far there appear to be no problems or anomalies with the brakes.
Seconds before the locomotive stopped the throttle idled and the brake pressure dropped to zero, he said.

This one is getting ugly quick. 82 in a 30 restriction. Not good.
