Gov. Cuomo Donor In Connecticut Uses Web Of Subsidiaries To Fund Campaign - UPDATED

BY GLENN BLAIN

Leaders of a Connecticut-based real estate investment firm were so anxious to donate to Gov. Cuomo’s re-election campaign they appear to have used 16 subsidiary companies to funnel $109,000 into the governor’s coffers – skirting state election law limits on corporate contributions
.
Cuomo's Jan. 15 filing show the donations are all tied to the Richman Group of Companies, a Greenwhcih-based firm controlled by Richard P. Richman. Each of the subsidiary companies uses the address of 340 Pemberwick Road, the address of Richman’s corporate headquarters.

The subsidiary companies also use some form of the Richman name, such as Richman Tax Credit Properties, Richman Fund Manager Inc., or Richman Fund Manager.

Richman has a history of donating big money to Cuomo’s campaign. He and his wife each donated $35,000 to Cuomo’s 2010 campaign.
