Tourism groups launch app for Adirondack visitors

ALBANY (AP) - Planning a trip to the Adirondacks? There's an app for that.

The Adirondack Association of Towns and Villages and regional tourism groups have launched a free app available on iTunes and for Android called "Discover the Adirondack Park."

The developers say travelers can use the app even if data and Wi-Fi are unavailable to find recreation, lodging, dining and other information.

Categories include winter recreation, rock and ice climbing routes, hiking trails, canoe and kayaking areas, shopping, dining, lodging, and events and attractions.
