ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- The Department of Environmental Conservation has completed a plan for 930 acres of recently acquired Forest Preserve lands in the Catskill Park.
The property is part of a larger tract known as the Big Indian acquisition. It's on the eastern ridge of Belleayre Mountain in the Town of Shandaken, Ulster County, and adjoins the Belleayre Mountain Ski Center.
Under the plan, 630 acres will be classified as wild forest and added to the Shandaken Wild Forest. The draft plan had proposed to classify these lands as wilderness, which would preclude bicycling on existing woods roads. The revised plan will allow for mountain biking and cross-country skiing on mechanically groomed trails.

(72,300 posts)under my jeans and chaps. I don't need to bundle up after the daytime temperature goes above 55. However, I do pack warm gear and snacks in the trunk. Did I mention how much I love my trike? It's great having a friend along for the ride on my back seat.

(72,300 posts)Nothing happens here. At least the old place had interesting traffic to watch when I didn't feel like going out. Imma gonna start naming the squirrels pretty soon.
Oh, and there is another thumbnail size thing covered in feathers this morning sitting in the dove's cage.
