Congressman Michael Grimm Fund-Raises Off ‘Anti-Catholic’ Bill Maher

Congressman Michael Grimm is using comedian Bill Maher’s “Flip a District” campaign as a fund-raising opportunity.

Mr. Grimm’s campaign fired off an email to supporters earlier this afternoon declaring that the voters in Staten Island and Brooklyn do not agree with Mr. Maher’s “anti-Catholic, leftist propaganda.”

One week ago, Mr. Maher, a liberal late-night host, revealed Mr. Grimm as one of two congressmen he urged his viewers to target in this year’s elections.

“He’s a guy who thrust himself into the running this year by threatening to throw a reporter off the balcony of the Capitol,” Mr. Maher said of Mr. Grimm, according to Politico. “He seems to be all of Staten Island distilled in one man and there is a lot of enthusiasm out there for making him go away.”
