Samuels: I mean it about Cuomo as Republican

Bill Samuels, a longtime Democrat and liberal activist says he meant what he said last week that maybe Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who has taken fire from the left for his tax cuts for business and property tax rebate plan, should consider joining the GOP.

While his initial criticism came amid the tax cut debate, he told Talk 1300?s Fred Dicker that Cuomo could also play a role in building what most people agree is a disheartened and weakened GOP in New York State.

It's been going downhill for a long time.

There is no real debate about anything. ( De Blasio's future moves may change that.) Corruption... legal and illegal ..... is everywhere.

The party wins elections now that it probably couldn't in the Pataki/Damato era.

But what difference does it make? Astorino is opting his own kid out of the Kommon Kore $$$tandards... announcing it in a speech that could have been written by Diane Ravitch. ( Its on Youtube.)

Someone's going to have to explain, between now and November , how Astorino is going to be a worse choice for people like me than the Quidpro Kid.
