Schumer proposal could help save Citi Bike

Citi Bike, the bike-share system that has quickly grown popular with New Yorkers but is reportedly losing millions of dollars, could get a lifeline of sorts from Congress.

Sen. Charles Schumer on Thursday introduced legislation that would allow bike-share memberships to be purchased with pre-tax dollars. Employers could also buy memberships for their employees and then write off the cost, Mr. Schumer said Thursday.
