Call Congress Right Now! (Seriously)

I JUST called G. K. Butterfield's office. If you're in his district, you can too, or call the rep of whatever NC district you're in...

President Obama's State of the Union address last night made many of us proud. He talked about climate change and new jobs programs, and he issued a stern call for a vote on laws to curb gun violence.

But the president left the door dangerously open for cuts to Social Security and Medicare benefits, claiming they are justified by the need to address the deficit.

MoveOn members have consistently made it clear that we don't agree. And as of this morning, neither do the bold members of Congress who have signed Representatives Alan Grayson and Mark Takano's letter promising to "vote against any and every cut to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security benefits."

Can you call Representative G. K. Butterfield today and ask him to cosign the Grayson-Takano letter promising to vote against any and every cut to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security benefits?

Here's where to call:
Representative G. K. Butterfield
Phone: (202) 225-3101
