Love Waning For Gov. McCrory

Love Waning For Gov. McCrory, GOP In NC Government, Only Small Percent Supports Cabinet Raises

The break down of the Public Policy Poll:
-- Only 11% of voters support the pay raises Pat McCrory gave to his cabinet, to 82% of voters opposed to them. Even Republicans oppose them by a 75/14 margin.
-- Only 39% of voters support cutting benefits for unemployed workers to $350 a week, while 50% are opposed to that change. And just 41% favor reducing the time period during which workers can receive benefits by six weeks to 48% who are opposed. Independents are opposed to the actions the legislature has taken on both counts.
-- 32% of voters disagree with the comments McCrory recently made about higher education in the state to 26% who agree. In the Triangle, where voters were much more familiar with his statements, 44% of voters disagree with McCrory to 30% who agree.

to screw the state over, and he will.

I just hope he leaves a bad enough taste in mouths all over the state that the GOP is out for the next 20 years, although I know that will never happen in the parts of the state that are still fighting the Civil War.

...were put there by Citizens United, The Tea Party, ALEC, et al. They don't give a damn whether they're popular or not. They're there to destroy this state just as they have destroyed Wisconsin and Michigan and a few others - they've got their ALEC model bills at the ready and their orders from the Koch Bros, et al. They're there to accomplish certain tasks and they will do so unapologetically and unconscionably. One of those tasks is making sure that even if the majority of NClinians are or vote Dem, that no Dem can ever be elected to office again for governor and that the legislature remains Republican-dominated. This is done via more gerrymandering, tons of outside money pouring in to buy Republicans into office and voter suppression. It's all on the list.

Buh-bye NC. You are now a corporate-pwnd fascist dictatorship.

The local tv news has been covering a lot of this. Sometimes this is all that the older folks in the rural parts can access.

People in this state are used to Dem government and all the benefits that entails. The majority won't put up with being treated like crap. Unemployment affects both political parties. The cessation of benefits will hurt a lot of people.
