One of those tasks is making sure that even if the majority of NClinians are or vote Dem, that no Dem can ever be elected to office again for governor and that the legislature remains Republican-dominated. This is done via more gerrymandering, tons of outside money pouring in to buy Republicans into office and voter suppression. It's all on the list.

The local tv news has been covering a lot of this. Sometimes this is all that the older folks in the rural parts can access.

People in this state are used to Dem government and all the benefits that entails. The majority won't put up with being treated like crap. Unemployment affects both political parties. The cessation of benefits will hurt a lot of people.
