Duke Energy want to raise rates (again). Public hearings scheduled...

Duke Energy is attempting to raise your light bill significantly as part of its long-term plan to expand its operations. They want to take your green without going green!

NC WARN is leading a training where you can learn how to effectively speak at the July 2 North Carolina Utilities Commission public hearing in Hillsborough on Duke's proposed rate hike. The training will give you the background and tools that you will need for effectively speaking out at the public hearing.

The training is June 20th, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at:

Durham Public Library
3605 Shannon Rd
Durham, NC 27707

Sign-up for the training and to speak at the public hearing here: http://org2.salsalabs.com/o/6601/p/salsa/event/common/public/?event_KEY=67372

The public hearing regarding these rate hikes will be at the Orange County Courthouse (106 E. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough), Tuesday, July 2, at 6pm.

guessing we'll see one as well. After we had more rate hikes than I can count because of storms and hurricanes and let's not forget the taxpayer and rate payer funded Crystal River neuclear plant which built so poorly that to fix it would cost several millions more dollars of Duke energy's money and so they've decided to close it down. After raising my rates to help pay for it. Will I get a refund on that? I think not.

Every doubt you won't see a refund on that nuclear plant.

The greed is never-ending.
