NAACP: 120 arrested in latest round of Moral Monday protests

RALEIGH, N.C. — After eight weeks and more than 550 arrests, the so-called "Moral Monday" protests at the state legislature show no signs of stopping. The state NAACP said 120 people were arrested Monday in the latest round of demonstrations.

Protesters are showing up in growing numbers to decry the rightward tilt of the state since Republicans gained control of the state legislature and the governor's mansion — the first time they've held both branches of government at the same time since 1870.

I went to the protest today with a neighbor friend who had gone before and had gotten arrested - so she knew 'the ropes' and was a good guide.

I'll share photos shortly.
