No adult supervision for BB guns, Air Rifles or Air Pistols for kids under 12

to take effect this Monday.

BB GUNS

Children under 12 in eight counties — Anson, Caswell, Chowan, Cleveland, Cumberland, Harnett, Stanly and Surry — will be allowed to possess and use BB guns, air rifles and air pistols without adult supervision. Most counties already allowed such unsupervised use, but a few remained on a list where BB and air guns were defined as dangerous firearms. Counties where supervision is still required include Caldwell, Durham, Forsyth, Gaston, Haywood, Mecklenburg, Stokes, Union and Vance.

WTF North Carolina?!!!!

We have these things but there is no way in hell I would have allowed ANY child to use them without me, husband being there - when we get grandkids (hopefully) - there is no way in HELL they will be allowed to use any of these things without an adult present.

God help kids that are allowed to use these and a neighbors kid or pet gets shot!! These things can cause horrible injuries and with the right one, death.

Just waiting until the inevitable happens makes me sick.

What could possibly go wrong?
