Related: About this forumOK guys. Let's actually plan a meetup.
Give us your preferences for town: Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh
Give us your preferences for night: Fri or Sat
Give us your preferences for weekend: last Jan weekend (27/28), first Feb weekend (3/4), second Feb weekend (10/11)
Me:
(1) Durham (2) Chapel Hill (3) Raleigh -- no strong preference here
no strong preference Fri or Sat
first or second Feb weekend (3/4 or 10/11) best for me: last Jan weekend (27/28) is really awkward since I have multiple obligations on Sat and Sun, both requiring extensive advance preparation

(60,014 posts)Friday night preferred -
Raleigh preferred, Durham second, Chapel Hill third - but all are doable
first or second Feb weekend both fine at the moment.

No preference on Fri/Sat but 3/4 weekend would work. SO works the night shift now, so it would be me only. Unless you want to entertain the idea of brunch one day. He really did enjoy meeting all of you and would love to see you again. Oh, and he is now officially a former conservative.
Can't wait to see you guys again!

(22,666 posts)Saturday Feb 4th or Saturday Feb 11th works best for me.
struggle4progress

supernova
(39,345 posts)that would be a good middle ground or maybe some places in Cary?
dsc
(52,162 posts)and would be a reasonable middle ground. Cary has some too.
nclib
(1,013 posts)And it does have a ton of restaurants.

(39,345 posts)Some places are expensive, some are less so. There's a good ME deli there that is pretty economical. I'll find the name.

cary has the hibernian for those wondering about an in between spot -- irish style pub. i've been it's not bad.
if it winds up being chapel hill -- the pig is excellent -- but don't ask me where it is -- it's up hill and down dale from what i can tell.

Provisions is a regular stop when down that way for fine dining.

(118,285 posts)Accurate headcount will help w/requesting table.
Can somebody bring a nice DU sticker or something to help newbies find us?
I'll definitely be late (6:30? 6:45?) since I'm sending out a voter registration team at 3P, have to check them back in after 5, then need to report final numbers before heading off to dinner

(118,285 posts)Nearer TJ Maxx than Dick's Sporting Goods but along one of those "streets" that runs perpendicular to Brier Creek Pkwy
They say they're close to the Quiznos, across the street from the GNC
