Owner has 30 days to claim naked Donald Trump statue from Cleveland Heights Police Department
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The owner of the naked Donald Trump statue in Cleveland Heights could get fined, according to the city's police department.
The figure, which appeared in front of the Huntington Bank in Coventry Village yesterday as part of a national act of activism, is now in evidence storage at the CHPD. The owner has 30 days to claim it, said CHPD Chief Annette Mecklenburg.
After that, it'll be forfeited to the city. Mecklenburg said the statue was taken away because it defied a city ordinance that prohibits leaving articles or equipment on public property.
Violating that ordinance is a minor misdemeanor, which is punishable by a fine, Annette Mecklenburg said. When calls come in about found property, she said, it's normally about items like bicycles.
